All about Ethan...

Ethan is 11 weeks old today, and I can't believe it. He had his 2 month check up the other day and he weighs 13.2 lbs (75th percentile) and he's 23" long (50th percentile). He has gotten so big but yet, he's still so small. He's still NOT sleeping through the night and I can't hardly wait to sleep, at least, 4 hours in a row! He did sleep 5.5 hours straight one night...but that was only ONE night. ; )

I personally think Ethan looks like my dad, with the exception of his eyes, those are his other grandpa's. I'm still not sure what color eyes he's going to have...my mom thinks they might be light......I sure hope so! ; ) Let me know who you think he looks like...I would really love to know your opinion.

9 months ago...

Nine months ago today, Crystina was placed in our arms. WOW...sometimes I still can't believe she is here with us. I just stare at her and thank GOD for my little girl. She is speaking more and more clearer and putting 2-3 words together. She often surprises us with new words that she knows. For example...the other day, this was one of our (many) conversations:

Crystina: Oh oh, I made mess.
me: You did? Where?
Crystina: Right there. (and she pointed to her mess)

She had never said "right there" before. Where does she learn this stuff? I know she mimics us ALOT and we do try to teach her new words but there are times that she just surprises us. She is really one smart cookie.

9 months ago...

Today...

She just gets more beautiful every day...not only on the outside but the inside. She will give me hugs and kisses, just out of the blue...LOVE those moments! And she just loves her baby brother...she gives him kisses all the time...just because. I can't wait until he interacts with her...that is going to be just priceless moments.

1st visit to the BEACH!

So, this past Saturday we drove 2.5 hours to the beach at Siesta Key (Sarasota area). The beach was wonderful! The sand is so white and soft...and it doesn't get hot, that you can't walk on it. And if the sand is covered, it's actually cool to the touch. And the water...it was SO nice, a little choppy but oh so nice!

Crystina at first didn't want to touch the sand, at all! She would just cry and wanted us to hold her...but then she got over her "fear" of the sand. She was okay with her feet touching the sand but NOT her hands...then she got over that, quick. Crystina loved the water, especially the waves, she thought that was just hilarious. Ethan...well, he slept most of the day. He was under shade the WHOLE time we were there. It was hot, but it was bearable.

We had such a great time! And we are looking forward to going again...hopefully to stay a couple of days or so. GOD bless!!

Never say never...

When Edgar and I started talking about having kids, I would always tell him that I wanted a minivan whenever we had kids and his response..."NO!! I will NEVER own one of those." Well, since we have 2 cars and Edgar has a company car (that's 3 cars), there was no use for our 2 cars. So this past Sunday we went to a Toyota dealership and traded in our 2 cars for only 1. Can you guess what I got??

Okay, we went from this....

YEP, I got what I wanted........FINALLY!!! You see, the last 5 or 6 cars that we've had, Edgar has picked them...........so it was MY turn. ; ) It's so comfortable and so roomy!! And it's SO smooth to drive! So glad we got it.

I'm actually an owner of a minivan.............boy, I'm getting old. ; ) lol!!!! ha ha!!

So, lesson learned.....never say NEVER, because you just might have to eat your words.

8 months ago...

Eight months ago today, Crystina was placed in our arms. I still can't believe how time flies by! And how much she has learned in these 8 short months. She truly understands everything we say to her! And I mean E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G! She's very vocal...even at times when we don't understand her, she just keeps repeating herself. But for the most part, I understand what she says. She has done some very hilarious things...I wish I could blog every time she does something funny or cute, but I would be blogging all day and with 2 little ones, there's not much time. She's also very loving towards her brother, she just loves to kiss him...it's SO cute!

I don't remember life without her. Weird, because it's been only 8 months but I really don't. She is MY baby girl and I love her SO much! I'm looking forward to what the future holds for her but for now, I plan on enjoying her baby/toddler days. They are truly SO much fun, even though I am SOOOOO tired! ; )

Today...

The recent picture was taken at the Orlando Magic vs. Philadelphia 76ers, playoff game 5. She enjoys herself and will cheer. It's so cute! Yes, we are HUGE Magic fans and are rooting for them, all the way! GO MAGIC!!!!
