Day 6 in China

Ni Hao! Hope everyone is doing well. We are doing very good, just homesick! I'm starting to count down the days until we get home.

Today, we went to the Yunnan National Art Museum and the Nationalities Village. The Art Museum was VERY interesting. So much history here in Yunnan. We were able to buy a piece for Crystina's wedding dress, whenever she decides to get married...which won't be for a VERY long time. : ) The lady at the museum said the piece is over 160 years old. It's very detailed and SO very beautiful! It's all done by hand. Then we were off to lunch, it was okay. After that we went to the Nationalities Village...that was VERY nice! There are 56 nationalities here in Yunnan, the Village had 12, so far. It was very interesting to see how the different nationalities lived. We were able to buy Crystina some traditional dresses and some other goodies. It was a very good shopping day. ; ) Then we went to dinner...where they had a "show" with the different nationalities, it was very interesting. The food was okay...the dumplings and potatoes were GOOD!!

Now here we are...Edgar & Crystina sleeping and of course, I'm here typing away. I can imagine how many of you have checked to see if we have put new pictures up. I think it's hilarious that some of you check this blog several times a day...but you know what, I check it several times a day also (when I can) to check on the comments!! Before our trip, I would follow families on their journey and I would check their websites several times a day, so I do know the feeling. We thank you for constantly checking up on us!!! And most importantly, for the comments! The comments is what helps us get through the day. Please keep them coming!!

Okay, now for the pictures. Not too much today because one of my cameras decided to mess up on me. (Yes, it's my "good" camera...I'm SO upset!!!) We took quite a bit of pictures with it when it decided to give up on me....and no, it's not the battery. Good thing we download the pictures every night, so it was only the pictures for today. Enjoy....

Edgar brushing Crystina's hair. So cute!
Check out her top!!!
Crystina digging in her suitcase...discovering new things.
How sweet!!!!!!!!
At the Nationalities Village.
Too cute!!!
Scenery pictures at the Nationalities Village...
That's a Yak...the Tibetans make Tea out of it.
We had a beautiful day...
Dinner...noodles with some other stuff.
Crystina sitting in a high chair at dinner...she's waiting for her food.
Playing with a new toy that daddy bought her.
So beautiful!!!
Our sweet angel....
Who would have thought we would have been Blessed with such beauty!?!?!!
Tomorrow we fly to Guangzhou and get to meet up with the other 15 families...thank GOD!!! We have felt so lonely here. We have meet 2 other American families, but they are with a different agency so our schedules are different, we usually see them at breakfast. Also there are 5 families here from Spain...which I think is so wonderful! It's amazing how many different cultures/races adopt from China. We were told that Spain is the #1 country that adopts from here. The US is somewhere on top but I don't think it's in the top 3.

We will also be getting Crystina's passport tomorrow. Without it, we can't leave Yunnan with her. But everything is set and our guide, Lily, will be picking it up in the morning. She has done ALL the running around, we did all that we had to do on Monday, that's why we were at the Civil Affairs for about 2 hours. What's interesting is, I was reading through the paperwork and I didn't know that they (the 2 girls from the orphanage) were watching us with Crystina, they called it the "intimacy period." Of course, we must have done AWESOME, I mean, we had Crystina smiling and giggling in no time.

Okay, this is our last post from Kunming, Yunnan, Crystina's birth place...we will be posting again once we get settled in Guangzhou. Our flight leaves Kunming at around 6:00pm and it's a 2 hour flight. Please keep Crystina in your prayers as she will be flying for the first time tomorrow. And please keep the comments coming!!

Miss you all so much! Sending much love from China to everyone!!! God bless!!

Hola Barbara & Edgar!
Cuidensen. Cariños, Diana
